WVBF flagship initiative
MISSION:BUIDL equips students to move from curiosity to contribution through hands-on learning, founder access, technical challenges, mentorship, travel support, and industry exposure.

MISSION:BUIDL creates the missing bridge between classroom interest and real industry participation.
Students often hear that blockchain, AI, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure are the future. Far fewer get to build a project, meet a founder, enter a hackathon, sit across from industry leaders, or attend the conferences where the ecosystem becomes real.
MISSION:BUIDL is WVBF's flagship student-builder initiative. It combines education, community, project experience, and targeted financial support so students can test ideas, grow their networks, and understand where their skills fit.

The builder pathway
Programming is designed to move students toward deeper ownership of their learning and a clearer next step.
Understand the technology, business case, risks, policy questions, and real-world applications.
Work through simulations, project prompts, research questions, and collaborative challenges.
Enter a hackathon, test an idea, join a team, develop a prototype, or lead a campus activation.
Meet builders, mentors, founders, employers, and peers who can help the work continue.

Convened a private dinner for students building or serious about building during Penn Blockchain Conference week, including Drexel student founders and participants from multiple universities.
Organized a three-student team that built a pay-per-verification API for AI agents and automated systems during a 48-hour EasyA hackathon.
Supported the winning cash prize at West Virginia State University's first hackathon. The winning team explored environmental sensor trust, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure.
Supported student travel and industry access for a West Virginia University cybersecurity engineering student representing CyberWVU.
